Techne

Within my summer getaway to the idyllic island of Hydra in Greece. A restaurant called Techne had it all - stunning views of the sea, top-notch Greek cuisine, and an overall delicious dining experience.

One of the starters we tried was the crispy calamari with sweet chilli dressing, lime, and herbs. The outside was super crunchy, and the dip had a delicious, slightly spicy kick to it. However, being used to the flavours of Asian food from Hong Kong, we found it a tad less exciting compared to the other dishes.

Next we had the sardines with tomato and caper dressing. It was absolutely fantastic! The sardines were fresh and bursting with flavours. It had me craving for more.

But perhaps the most memorable starter was the swordfish carpaccio with compressed fennel, kumquat, grape, and ouzo ponzu. It was a culinary masterpiece of a combination of freshness and lightness that paired perfectly with the swordfish. We couldn't get over how delicious it was.

Moving on to the mains, we decided to try something unique - lamb baklava. This dish had a delightful cinnamon flavour and a wonderfully crispy texture on the outside. It was a true culinary marvel.

And finally, for dessert, we treated ourselves to a lovely lemon posset with berry compote and yoghurt thyme crumble. The dish was incredibly refreshing especially in the summer heat, and the hint of thyme added a unique twist that we absolutely loved.

All in all, our dining experience at Techne was nothing short of amazing. From the exquisite views to the mouthwatering Greek dishes, it was a culinary adventure we'll never forget. If you ever find yourself on Hydra, make sure to pay a visit to this fantastic restaurant.

That’s my Mini-Miche review!
